im a paintballer with a 4500 psi tank and the majority of paintball places have air compressors that only fill 3000 and i was wondering if those work to fill mine up? if not to at least just 3000 psi rather than the full 4500. help please

Most local dive shops can fill above the 3000 psi you are asking about.
But most people dive with an Aluminum 80 cu ft tank, and that fill pressure is 3000.
Go to your local dive shop and ask if they will fill to 3500 psi. The 3500 psi is what most steel tanks get filled to. My compressor will go to 4500 psi, but I don't run it up that high. The compressor works harder at 4500 psi than it does at 3000 psi, more work equals more wear on the compressor.

Hope this helps, Jim

yeah, basically go to the dive shop and ask what's the most pressure they'll be willing to put into your tank

if it's not a tech shop, you probably won't be able to get them to go over 3000 psi though

Around here, it used to be the other way. SCUBA shops could only fill to 3000 but the paintball stores could go to 4500. Now that the SCUBA shops near me started filling paintball tanks they all upgraded to 5000psi compressors.

Just ask around. Try different paintball and SCUBA shops. I am sure you will find one that will fill to 4500psi.

Other than that, it is perfectly safe to fill your tank to only 3000psi. You will get about 65% as many shots as you would at 4500 psi.
