Hi! I want to take a dive vacation over the Thanksgiving holiday, and I need some advice as to where is a good place to dive during that time of year (best weather/visibility). Florida Keys, Carribbean, Mexico, California??? I want a decent price, with good visibility and lots of fish. I prefer warm water...but I also have a 7mil wetsuit, so I can go colder if I have to.

This is my first year being certified. So far, I've done Grand Cayman (from a cruise), Cozumel (that was GREAT!), and California (Santa Cruz Island, Channel Islands). Any suggestions? I don't want to end up somewhere in the middle of hurrican season or a plankton bloom or anything....

Florida Keys are always good consistent diving. Great coral formations, warm water, lots of fish. All anchor dives.

Inexpensive, but remember that the diving is better the farther up the keys you go. Largo and Islamorada being the best. SHorts and T shirt is all you will need even going to the nicest resturants.

You can't go wrong with the Fl Keys.
Key Largo is my favorite.

Turk & Caicos is always nice. Could cost a little more to get there but Northwest point and West Caicos are worth the price.

ppilot once bubbled...
I'll be in Key Largo over thanksgiving, if you decide to go down that way and want a dive partner, look me up!

I'm looking to do the same - having two free holiday days just is too good to pass up. Originally I was looking at Cozumel, or someplace else in the carribbean - but I didn't want to spend two whole days cramped up in a plane....

So my question to the forum - flying out of Chicago - where's the easiest place in the carribbean to go....?

I was going to pad two vaca days on either end - and If I fly to miami or ft. lauderdale I could fly out tuesday night, dive, wed, thurs, fri, sat, sun, and fly back monday evening.
