Yup. Our group meets in that lot, south side of Kings Fish. Can't miss us. 7:30 Saturday.

Hope to To see you there! I'm the good looking one with the proper haircut;).

I know there are local dive clubs but at my experience level, joining one and showing up seems a bit intimidating. anyone out there that would like to go with me?

No, it's not that way at all. All of them are happy to see new people show up.

I live north of you in Redondo Beach and conditions permitting I'm in the water most every Sunday morning and Wed. night. You are welcome. We always choose up buddies in the parking lots and people are always careful to see that the "new guy" has someone experienced to dive with. Bring beer or food and you will be really popular.

I'd say just show up. But conditions have been horrible lately. Last night we called the dive due to high surf. I'd hate to see you make the drive only to find surf taller than your head.

I'm organizing a trip to Avalon some time in the next few weeks. Might be best to come up here, and get to meet a few people and then decide if you want to go. The plan is to get a couple hotel rooms for Fri and Sat and then just dive, eat and sleep for the whole weekend

There are also, as you say many good groups in Orange County. With gas prices and traffic it would be good to find some dive buddies closer to home but if not come on up here in LA. No reason at all to not dive

Would love to team up sometime, although my schedule can sometimes be a bit confining. Live inland, so beach locations not a problem for me. Adv. open water but still learning a LOT about open OCEAN water. Looking to pick up many logged dives, rescue, and deep, night, and wreck I specialties this year, so lots of dives will be fine with me. See my profile for more info. Cheers!

CORRECT and .... good choice!
The SCD got me back into the water after 5 years of "abstinence" since my OW certification in 1999

I will not be there this week-end because I have my IE exams .. but I am looking forward to meet you the week-end after next.

I dove this morning at Shaw's ... ankle slappers and 15ft viz.

Regards,

I_AM

Awesome I AM.

Again, for those looking to REGULARLY dive, SCD is off on our normal Sat morning dive. Meet at Laguna Beach Mall right off the 405/El Toro at 7:30.

I'm reeeealy looking forward to this Sat. Surf low, viz picking up, testing my new camera (newbie)....what more could I want? Also, last Friday I was forced into drinking copious amounts of alcohol and staying up late so I missed last Sat's dive! Two weeks without diving?? I AM a civilized person, you know. I'm itchin' bad!!
