Greetings from NC. This is my first post but have been member of the web site for about a month. I have enjoy the informative posts on this site and finally decided to make a post. I have not been diving for a while, (since my so called buddy left me tangled in a wreck in Fl. a fews years ago) I have got my nerve to try it again. I am NAUI and would like to get a refresher course. Does anyone know of anyone teaching courses in the Elizabeth City area or the Outer Banks. I am eager to get back in the water and try the beach wrecks. I need a buddy. Anyone interested? Thanks to everyone who contributes to this great site. I am looking forward to meeting some of you in the future.

Ron

hey there Ron and welcome to Scuba Board!

you happen to live in a great area for wreck diving, but i bet you already knew that. Drop a post in the NC Wreck Valley board, they can tell you a lot about diving opportunites arond your area. sorry to hear about the bummer buddy, just dont dive with him again. if you ever have any questions about scuba diving at all, this is the place to ask....

so with that i leave you to start posting!
good luck!

Zack

Welcome to the board sorry to hear you haven't been diving, glad ou're about to start again.

Welcome to Scubaboard! Geographically, we can't buddy up for a dive. Sorry for your bad experience, hopefully you can get wet soon!

Welcome to the board!

Welcome to ScubaBoard!

Glad to hear that your poor excuse for a buddy didn't sour you on diving forever.

Someone from NC should be along to offer some good advice about where to take your refresher.

You should be able to find plenty of buddies on ScubaBoard that you can feel confident with.

Dive safe!

Christian

If you can't find a buddy, which I'm sure you will, I will travel. Pick a good buddy. Be safe. Love wrecks. History in any genre sets the mind ablaze.

Welcome to the board. Off hand I can't remember his name but we have a member in Nags Head that you may can hook up with.

Welcome Aboard!!!

It's addictive, but who cares?!?!?

Good friends and good info. What could be better???

P.S. - If you have not already done so, please fill out your profile.

I'm glad to hear you are back into the sport. If you are ever down my way, give me a PM. My wife and I would be glad to dive with ya.

Ron,

Welcome to the Board! I had an experience with a negligent dive buddy who almost cost me my life too. My advice, make sure you know and TRUST the people you dive with. I almost always consider myself a solo diver (unless diving with my husband, my Instructor, or one of the Florida Conch Divers) and plan my dives that way. Like my husband said before (murphdivers286) if your ever in Florida, let us know , we'll dive with you and never leave you hanging
:)
