Hi everyone,

I have recently purchased the new Nautilus Lifeline and Arc PLB.

The Nautilus lifeline allow us to register the boats MMSI number.

I'm wondering if it is common practice to register the liveaboard MMSI and test with the boat captain before dive?

Also will you make a list of the safety equipments you carry and leave on boat before you dive?

what would you.include in the list? I could think of
1) name
2) emergency contact & name
3) dive insurance purchased, insurance number and emergency contact
4) safety equipment carried eg plb, nautilus, smb, light etc

many thanks

The MMSI is to register the Lifeline itself, not the vessel you'll be aboard. It's to identify the Lifeline to vessels.

In the US, it's easy to do. I don't know about other countries.

My advice with the Lifeline is:

- Make sure it's full charged everyday or ever other day. The radio feature will not work if the battery is below 40% or whatever you set.
- As soon as you're onboard, see what communications chat channel the boat uses and test it with the captain. Channel 16 is not a chat channel. It's for emergencies.

thanks I'm referring to the new nautilus marine rescue which I think can register the boat MMSI
