I was at a lecture on Norwalk virus today, which is often implicated in cruise ship outbreaks of viral gastroenteritis (vomiting/diarrhea), and one of the slides was a list of cruise ships that had failed CDC sanitation inspection this year. Nautilus Explorer was one of them, with a score of 77 (below 86 is unsatisfactory). It doesn't list whether any actual illnesses occurred on these ships though.
Here's the link.
Another link I turned up on a Google search.
Anyone know any details of why they failed inspection or whether anyone has ever gotten sick on this ship? Just curious.

The first link is good stuff, I bookmarked it for reference. The second link has some errors related to who owns which ship. The Statendam has never been a RCCL ship. It's a Holland America ship (Carnival subsidiary).

Interesting about the Nautilus Explorer too. It's considered a top notch liveaboard. Of course the low rating doesn't mean you WILL get sick.

I've been on the Nautilus. Nope, didn't get sick either. I thought that Rick ran a really nice operation, and I'd go back without hesitation. I've always wanted to dive Port Hardy and a liveaboard is the easy way to do it.

Capybara- when are you two coming back to dive the Point? Of course beter to wait until the rains stop here... that is if they do stop.

Interesting information. I've never had any intestinal problems working on board the Lindblad Expeditions eco-cruise ships. Only problem I've experiened has been an expanding waistline from the great food!
