Which agency is not a problem, the Instructor makes the difference,Padi certifies worldwide the most of all new divers and is worldwide the most popular ,but all agencies worldwide are cross-pollinating ,so that no matter which card you hold in your hands will be accepted.Peace

no matter what you do, i wouldnt take an internet course. To get the most out of your initial scuba course, you,ll have to make human contact.Shop around for what suits your needs best.Peace

rab:

I am not convinced.

It clearly states that the academic part of the course can be done online. The pool and OW work must be done with a live instructor.

What is so bad about that?

People come here and learn all sorts of things everyday.

Lots of people learn better online than in a classroom so for them it would be a better course. The instructor is still responsible to verify that the student has the required understanding of the material before issuing a card.

The Instructor is STILL far more important than the agency.

SubMariner:
How about "1-800-SAY-PADI?

Man, this agency bashing thing is getting sooooo old! :crafty:

Three instructors were out on a dive boat with students off North Carolina last fall. The boat hit a log that punched a hole in the hull and the boat began to sink because the bilge pumps couldn't keep up.

The SSI instructor ran around telling his students to grab everthing and jump over board.

The Naui instructor said, yes, get your dive gear but put it on and we'll use it as a life jacket.

The PADI instructor agreed with the NAUI instructor and said yes, put on your gear BUT bring your credit cards - we're going to make this a wrech diving class!!! ;)

I have never heard of the "Padi Crawl" Before posting this reply, I referred to my Padi Instructor Manual in the conducting O/W dives 1-4 and the exit note stated "Choose an exit appropiate for the environment". ???
