I have searched and only found older posts from a some time back regarding beginning scuba instruction in the Nashville area.

I have been reading over some of the local group's sites but just looking for anyone with recent experience with training in this area.

I took my OW class at BlueWater Scuba ([Blue Water Scuba) on White Bridge Road. They are SSI. Steve Slattery owns the place and is great to work with. I took my AOW and Nitrox at Scuba Adventures (Scuba Adventures) in Hendersonville. They are PADI. Wes is also great to work with. Both do the check out dives at Martha's.

Why not make your way out to Marthas Quarry (Martha's Quarry :: The Mid-South's Diving Destination) tomorrow night and friday night, to check out local divers and dive training youself. Two large scuba clubs are haveing get togethers and diving both nights. You will be able to meet dive shop owners, shop instructors, and independant instructors both nights. I think it would be better for you to form your own opinion, than to rely on the web. You can be my personal guest. I will probably be the first person you see. If not, just ask for me, I'm Fred the owner. You'll have a great time.

I can't get out there this week but I sure do appreciate the offer! I am investigating scuba because my wife and I like to snorkel and I am trying to convince her to get into scuba.

Thanks again and I may check back at some point down the road about visiting the quarry.

Bring the wife. Anytime after 4 pm til dark, tonight and tomorrow night best way to convience her is to let her witness other women haveing a ball. tonight and tomorrow night are the big doings for the scuba clubs. I know i would not be able to introduce you to as many instructors any other time.

I don't see how you could do any better than MTSS (Middle Tennessee Scuba And Swim) located in Franklin TN just a few minutes south of downtown.

I'll be at Fred's quarry tonight with the Cool Springs Scuba Club -- I think I can confidently assert that most of their members use MTSS

I've gotten all of my training from Open Water thru Master Scuba Diver with MTSS in the past couple of years.
