Tom R:
When the pink elephants give you an OOA signal would be a good indicator.

I ignore the pink elephants cuz I know they're not real. I do worry a little when the fish start to talk though.

I have never been narced. :(

Two clues that indicate I am getting narc'ed
1. my exhaust bubbles sound like they are miles away instead of right next to me.
2. feels like someone is palming my head like a basketball. even pressure slightly more pronounced in my forehead.

I start feeling weird, I know because I check my guages like crazy without really looking at what they are saying. Concetrate...............

I think I get Narced on every dive, cause when I drive home I still feel weird. Everything is a little delayed.

Strange you mentioned the bubbles. I found that they sounded like they were freezing. They slowed down and sounded distant. The funny thing was, there was a boat goin over head and I thought the noise was in my head. LOL There is no room for noise with all the voices in there.

I've only been narced once. I was well aware of the symptoms and was with several very experienced divers. It was in Roatan diving hole in the wall at 135'. The day before i dove a wreck at 110' and had no symptoms at all, however at 135' when i came out of the wall and was floating there checking my gauges i was definately enjoying myself a little too much. I immediately realized this (grinning ear to ear) and let everyone know i was narced and was going to head up a bit. About 115' i was fine.

I'm glad i've experienced it because now i know how my body reacts to the effects.
