One free ata boy to the one that identifies this compressor. I do know that it is a Bauer, or so the owner says. He says that it is also a late 90's model. It came from a fire department so I feel that it was well kept. Not sure as of now if it is on synthetic oil as of yet. Still trying to figure out what it is and if it is worth the $2000 with one cascade and a couple Al80's. Then I get to figure out what to do with my Bauer Utilus 10.

Thanks in advance for the help.

It looks like a K14-85. More pictures with different views would help.

Craig, you are the winner of one ata boy. The owner found the tag and didn't think that was it.

Any things that you would recommend watching out for on this model of compressor? I know some general items from when I bought my other compressor.

My suggestion to anyone would be, never buy a machine that you have not observed operate to full pressure. This is especially true with models that have been long out of production, like the K14-85. It's great that you can get a compressor at a bargin price. Just remember, you get what you pay for. Maybe this machine is in great operating condition, but is a max working pressure of 3200 to 3600 (can't remenber which) going to do you any good? Bauer's standard answer to parts that are available, but not in stock in the US, is 6 to 8 weeks. Maybe longer if they miss the cut off date for the following months container shipment.

Thanks Craig. After posting the last time I quickly found out about the 3600 limit. While I would love to have the 7cfm it isn't worth loosing the 5000 of the 3cfm Utilus 10. The cascade bottle that comes with the compressor is pretty much useless for dive tanks.
