The program works on both XP and Vista machines I have. I have had no problems downloading data and I figured out the tank size dilemma. It will accept liter sizes, so populate the entry with a close whole number size that the industry uses. I use 13L for the 100cuft high pressure or 85 cuft. low pressure as these are similar in size. Then re-select the capacity back to cubic foot and it will designate a decimal volume of the tank. In the above case it is 0.46cubic foot.

Does this value of 0.46 cubic foot have any bearing in SCUBA? I am new to the sport and have only been thrown actual full capacities of tanks like "72 or 80 or 100 hp" Am I to understand the actual tank volume is 0.46 cubic feet under no pressure and you can blow 100 cubic feet worth of air into that space using 3440psi?

Anyway, I just enter 0.46 as the size and my starting and ending pressures of the tank and the SAC is calculated for the dive. I'm sure its not perfect but we're not building cabinets either.

GEARSETS: Going to drop down menus under Tool to Register then highlight Gearset, click Add. Name the Gearset and click ADD again, and enter 1 item then OK, click ADD again and type second item then OK etc until everything is listed. The gearsets you create will then show up during dive info entry.

Thanks for the update Gibby, hope you get your honey-do list taken care of.

How would you go about exporting files to upload into another dive program. I have the N2Ition 3, and I have the 1.1 software. Thanks.

Guys, any chance we can have a linux (or mac) version of the dive log.

Both me and my partner have moved away from Windoze as a result of the fantastic performance of Vista.

I installed Ubuntu .. the Mrs bought a mac. It is a pain in the neck having to maintain a virus prone pc just to be able to download the dive logs.

I have close contact with a university and students are not using MS any more Mac and Linux are well represented in that age group so ... think about your next market.

Please help!

On linux you can run Wine or Crossover pro. Ive not tested it but that programs will run most windows programs but not all.

On mac you will have to run parallels.

Although the excellent marketing campaign would have the public beleive otherwise the worldwide mac market share is only about 3.5% to 4% at best estimates.

Given the slow economy thus slow worldwide growth rate for mac, tripling the cost of developing for mac and a complete lack of hardware drivers by the component makers, it is highly unlikely that there is a future for dive log for mac at this time.

Gibby, Has there been any solution to the Vista software problems with the logbook?
I have repeatedly deleted and re-downloaded this software over the last several months. I find it very frustrating that it will not put a short cut on my desk top, nor can I even get it to open or run!
So, to date, I have a $150.00 clothes pin sittng in my drawer! I am running a less than one year old laptop with Vista Home Premium 64 bit OS.... Any sugestions?
Bill :depressed:

I'm still having similar problems. I get a Icon on the desktop, the software runs, but will not download data from my computer. I'm disappointed to say the least with the software and it's not our problem response. I know Seiko developed it but Zeagle has more pull with them than I do.

I understand and appreciate your frustration. As soon as I have a good answer, this will be the first place I post it...that I can promise you.

We haven't given up, and are still pressing for a solution.

I appreciate your continued efforts to get it resolved. I just wish I had not invested (at $144 it is an investment) in the download cable that is worthless. If my Zeagle dealer had warned me the software is unstable and probably will not work I would spent the money on something else.

I am having the same problem. I am running Vista (64 bit) and can not get the program to work. It keeps coming up with "Componet not correctly registered" So I too am stuck with a $150 clothes pin. I thought that it work on Vista because on the Zeagle website it says :

"Used to download dives to a PC running MS Windows XP, 2000, 98SE, or Vista. It includes the docking station and a USB Data cable."

I wish I would have found this page before I spent the money on the downloader. I would have waited to have spent the money on it. I could have spent the money on something I could actually be using, instead of something just stuck in a drawer. I did notice that Zeagle has changed what it says on their website. It nolonger says just Vista. They have now added "Vista 32bit (note at this time the logbook software is not compatible with Vista 64bit)" I really wish that would have been there before I wasted my money.
