This weekend I went down to Jupiter, Florida to work on some DM stuff and try out new gear. I helped out with an ow class doing pool stuff. Funny thing about it is that the class was taught in spanish, but when you are underwater and you get an OOA signal, it doesn't matter what language you speak. :)

Since were in the pool I had time to try out my new Halcyon 27# pioneer wing. I liked it a lot!

Sunday I headed down a little further to West Palm Beach to dive under the Blue Heron Blvd Bridge. We entered the water at Phil Foster Park. This is one of the best shore dives in the state probably. I've seen a much more diverse bunch of marine life here in 15' of water than on any reef I've been on. Tons of micro stuff like those worm things, tons of pillow starfish, sea urchins that hide by 'glueing' shells over themselves, crabs, saw a hogfish, baracudas, french angels, saw this weird starfish that was kinda wormy looking (sounds like I need to take a fish ID class). Bottom time was 56 mins, max depth 16' and avg depth was around 10'.

After the dive we stayed in the water so I could do some rescue drills. Talking about being tired. I did like 4 different rescues. After an hour of that I was tired. I hope I never have to do 4 back to back rescues by myself ever in real life.

Since I've been diving for the past 3 Sundays I may take this weekend off from diving, but whos, I might give in and catch a dive somewhere.

I did my first OW dive from a charter that left from that bridge. Deep Obsesion was the boat run by Jim Abernathy. Good company, great location to go diving.
The only rescue I had to do was when my beer fell overboard. Thank goodness they float! :)
