You will come back wanting more...

More HP, more roar, more scooter trash...

Have fun, be safe.

Helmets save lives.

yea Gator, don't get on a harley or you'll have to have one. Certainly don't get on a chopper. That will spend your money quite quickly.

...its like a motorcycle, only SMALLER right????

Says the guy in Michigan who's Goldwing is for sale this spring....

It does not matter what you drive, they are a money pit. Started with a new cbr 929. I did a bolt on pipe, ok power. Then upgraded the computer, much better, full system, even better power and then custom maps. Got incredible power but wanted more down low so I started with sprockets, now its hard to hold on. Along with various little tweeks I got it moving nice. Then I did'nt like its looks so I bought a eurotail, hugger fender, new windsheild, etc. Then the black wheels did'nt do much for me so I went out and got a set of polished dymag wheels. And finally after nothing is left to buy, I stripped the entire bike and polished all the aluminum. I'm into it for a fortune, it looks and runs great but ain't worth nothing. If your going to spend money, do it on a Harley, at least some of it can be recouped, but if you want to go fast, you gotta stay with the crotch rocket!!!!!!!

Oh contraire but it does make a difference. To own a pre 85 Harley ironhead or earlier (non-evo engine) is to truly understand bike maintenance.

Some pits are deeper than others!

Yeah, Harleys are nice, I mean you get the excess noise and oil leak without that pesky extra horsepower...

I'm going to leave it stock (not much I could do anyway), my brother has a '03 GSX R600 tricked out, I don't even want to think about how much money he has in that, it is pretty damn cool though.

so much for being a broke college kid Gator. Now, no drinking and riding!

Hey, bikes are cheap, a heckuva lot cheaper than diving. Especially that one. It's 13 years old and a basic street bike. I bet it was about $1500 and it still looks good. Besides if you want to get on campus at UF, you gotta have a bike. It's so nice to park a block from your class and watch all those poor saps that had to fight for parking way out at 34th Street and take a bus. Saves 15 minutes each way unless you pull out the ol' bicycle.

I liked my basic street bikes just as much as any. It's just like scuba. Sure, Cozumel is great, but a nice quarry with some fish is still pretty cool if you love diving. Dangit, I want a bike!

As stated above, I like the bike, contrary to other opinions.

The background also makes me nostalgic for the homestead. Is that house out near Newnan's? Something about it makes me think the east side of town near Hawthorne Road.

Ben,
All true but a lesson in Harley 101:

"Harley chicks are the hottest .... by far!"

You can't put a price on some things! End of lesson.

Oversea,
Don't forget extra gear/chaincase lube and brake fluid. Thats what saddle bags are for. :)
