Wow... I'm a happy camper.

This week I bought a used Andy's DS1.

I already have two drysuits:
Primary ~ Andy's DS3 Ultra lightweigth across the chest zip self entry suit with DC drygloves and forearm dump.
Backup ~ DUI CF200 diagonal zip self entry with rockboots.

Both have pockets and p-valve.

The CF200 probably has less than 30 dives on it since I really like my Andy's.

So when I got the chance to buy this Andy's that only been used 25x I jumped on it. At first sight I thought... hmmm... oh no.

Yellow and black was OK but the zipper was on the shoulders. And the exhaust valve was behind the zipper (weird... how will I reach that!) And the boots were 2XL (Yikes! Well for the price I could have the boots replaced... I just did that on my other Andy's.) But the zipper... it didn't have a protective flap over it and with it on the back like that I wasn't sure it would get along with my backplate.

But.... I really like Andy's drysuits.:D So I bought it.

Today I got it wet. :D

1. It fits perfect! Even the boots... I forgot that my other suit has 2XL boots too.
2. The suit is the Extreme Nylon with the ultra fabric on the inside but the heavier heavier fabric for the outer layer... I like this suit!!!
3. The zipper... WOW... it starts at the right front of the shoulder goes around the back of the neck and ends at the left front of the shoulder! I can zip it myself=SELF ENTRY!!!
4. The zipper fits perfectly with the backplate/harness... Shane checked me out and gave the Okee Dokee.
5. The exhaust valve is on the outside of the shoulder... perfect place for auto dumping wide open.
6. The seals were in great shape and the suit came with DC drygloves!!! :D
7. No leakee.

Soooo... the CF200 is going bye bye... a friend ask if I was going to sell it when he heard I had gotten another Andy's.

Now to install the required pockets and p-valve... and I will be truly happy. :D

cool story. So the backup suit-of-armor is gone. Doesn't sound like Andy Jr. is very barnacle proof...

Arnaud got his DUI 50/50 back this week with the new seals and the dump on the wrist.... but our trip got blown out today because of the weather.

I gotta see that wrist dump in action....

you never know until the stuff gets wet.

Maybe I missed it, but how do you feel about Andy's suits???

Mo2vation once bubbled...

... but it is spoken for. The light weight Andy's is definitely not barnacle proof but I suspect this Extreme would be more so. Still when it comes to giant man-eating barnacles I'm not so sure.

Maybe I should keep the CF200 after all....
