This is my girlfriend/dive buddy, Sandy, in our trip to Bonaire. She has around 60 dives now, 24 of them from our recent trip. I am really proud of her as she has just amazed me with her attentiveness and willingness to learn.

I have been her only dive buddy so just about everything she patterns herself off of, is by watching me and boy is it freaky. I pay close attention to her body position in the water, as that can signify if someone is comfortable or not. I am pretty hard on myself and expect alot from her, she has not let me down yet. We have alot of fun together with diving, it may sound like we are all uptight, but that is furthest from the truth. We are both newbies to this diving thing, I have about 100 more dives than her and have shared my experiences up to this point with her. Our relationship is pretty open so we have some pretty darn good discussions about reality.

When you are comfortable with your diving skills you can truly enjoy diving more and more....I am slowly progressing on this with myself, trying to improve the areas I need improving and having been there since day 1 of her certification, I have explained to her my experiences and my views on the certain aspects of the dive industry I don't like and the areas I do like.

We have had plenty of discussions about diving in general, how she looks at it, how I look at it, she is pretty comfortable with me as I am with her..together we make a good team.

I just felt like writing about her/us and providing a pic of her in the water. I remember taking this pic and thinking how relaxed she looks. It is just too cool.

Man, I like what you said. Diving is a lot of fun, and like anything wonderful, it is best shared with those you care about.

You really nailed it with your post!

Do I get a free DIR book? I'm a Braves fan, but certainly admire the Cubs......

And don't like anyone else except the R. Sox in the playoffs. Wouldn't that be something special?

Glad you had fun with your buddy!

And it is a cool pic. Like it.

Jason- That was fast, you old smoothie!

Last time I remember seeing you post, you were single. Now you have a girlfriend, have her diving and got her to go away with you for a vacation

All I can say is............ Cool ;)

If the CUBS win the central division in my lifetime, I'll buy a DIR book for everyone on this board.

If I PM you my address, will you send me my book?

You get points for being a good boyfriend. Nice Tarpon in the foreground.

Hey Jep, PM me for the shipping address...oh and thanks! That's awful nice of ya.. Your a heckuva guy!

Count me in for a book.
Cool pic. Maybe it's the water color, or something, but it almost looks old-timey, and something is throwing my depth perception off...(i think it's that she is still about as clear as the fish, but the background around her is fading out) it looks like she is either tiny or the fish are huge. Whatever it is, it's a neat effect.

yeah they're probably pretty big.

I can see this thread is going to become the thread with the most posts ever! :)
