If you are going to turn the turret down and connect the primary second stage hose to the 5th port, you need to use a longer hose, around 120cm minimum for it to be comfortable. Any shorter, it will pull from your mouth.
 
I know this not gonna fit in with what most do but it is how I dive in my environment...

Have you considered using a J-valve cylinder valve and/or a Scubapro Mk 7 1st stage (which honks when cylinder pressure gets too low) for the type of diving you do?

Mk 7's show up on eBay from time to time. These 1st stages really are bulletproof. Get the last-gen Mk 7, the one with the thick, 3,300 psig yoke.

If you use a J-valve, you will need to remember to constantly check the position of your pull rod (so you won't have any surprises).
