DG,

Keep me posted on the MX-10 extender. I have been looking at it but to be honest I am somewhat leary of it. It would be nice to hear a first hand report. Which one did you get, the Sea&Sea one or the other one?

Between you, Dee and me we may just blind poor Walter.

Miller, while the MX-10 does have it's problems, it is also quite capable of some good shots. I have a lot of them to prove it. Is upgrading to the MMII or the Nik V really worth it? That really depends on what you want and expect out of the camera. For me, if I were doing it over I would upgrade to the MMII, the Nik V is not worth the extra cost for me. Having said that, if I were looking today, I think I would not buy either but go digital instead.

Me too!

I got my MX-10 in January right before we went to Roatan. I really liked it and found it very easy to use. I am an experience land photographer but still have much to learn about underwater photography. I figured that I would not take my camera on the Wreckmania class dives to avoid task overload but probably will take it on our afternoon dives.

I have asked for a strobe extender for my MX-10 for my wedding anniversary on Monday. I will keep you posted if I get it!

If you go to this link :

http://www.scisland.org/

then click on the bird,

then click on 'New underwater photos taken by Brad'

you will see a number of pictures that were taken while freediving with an MX10 and strobe.

The camera is very compact and durable. I have been using mine for 5 years and i haven't done any maintenance to it at all. The MX10 is the only camera i have ever used, but i am very happy with mine :)
