Has anyone been on the MV Orchid in the red sea? My hubby has booked us on for the first week of August and all the reports seem good. What are the dive sites like? I prefer reefs to wrecks but am looking forward to diving the thistlegorm.

We have been to the Red Sea twice on the Royal Emperor doing the Northern Route: Thistlegorm, Giannas D, Carnatic, Abu Nahas, etc. It is AWESOME diving!

In all likelihood we will be back to the Red Sea next year to do a Southern Route: Brothers, Ephinstone, etc. Probably on either the Excel or Hurricane (if it comes out in time).

Here's a link to some of the pictures we're taken on vacation to the Red Sea:

The first batch is with our trusty S&S MMII (slides), while the more recent ones are digital (Oly C4040Z).

Have fun!

we go onthe Orchid on 20 July.... I'll let you know how we get on. We were recommended it by some friends of our who have been on it twice in the past and rave about it...
