Another option
“...Take the Ferry to Lombok then Fly to Labuan Bajo

Ferry routes from Bali to Gili Islands and Lombok – NOTE: You’d need a flight or another ferry from Lombok to Komodo Island!

This is an option I made up in my head because I thought it would be cool if you could see Gili Islands and Lombok before heading to Komodo Island…without having to take the dangerous ferry the entire way. There’s tons of ferries that go from Bali to Gili T or Gili Air, or Lombok, and also the faster but more expensive option: fast boats.

Schedule and pricing for the Bali ferries: BaliFerry.com (shocker, right?)

Schedule and pricing for the fast boats:Balifastboats.com (shocker again!)

So anyway…you can do that, and end up in Lombok, where there are several daily flights to Komodo Island each day.”

@Dan_T
Many thanks. Flying from Lombok seems a viable alternative. Hopefully Mt Agung will behave.

Yes, I agree. This would be the best alternative. There are flights from Mataram (LOP) to Labuan Bajo (LBJ). They may not be Garuda, Just check it via http://www.nusatrip.com/

Did he say Mt Agung in the Philippines? I'd swear I heard him say that near the beginning of his video.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to check on friends and relatives.

Philippines, Indonesia, they all look the same to him, I guess :D

He did mention Indonesia in earlier eruption video, few days ago.
