So just what kind of "taildragger" are you refering to ? ... haven't flown one in ages (and it has nothing to do with being a "real" pilot ... the same COULD be said for those who haven't exceeded 1.0 mach, or 40,000 feet, or 150,000 lbs ... take your pick. )

Always curious about folks who share more than one of my passions, though.

He's leaving today to fly in an AT-6 Texan (Navy SNJ) warbird from Florida to Oshkosh, WI for the EAA Aviation Expo for 10 days.. I have his computer at my house to do some repairs..

Judging from your nickname I would venture a guess the you were also involved in aviation. Following a similiar path playing with aeroplanes and aerocrafts for years and then deciding I had enough of the low pressure and wanted the compression sport. I really hope you enjoy your time in the water and here on the board. Remember the wolrd is 70 % water and there are only about 13000 places to land a plane on dry land.

Hmmm.....Taildragger. I learned to fly in a Supercub myself (long before a separate endorsement was required) so of course I ascribe to the opinion that if you can't fly a taildragger you are not a real pilot.

I'm working on recovering a Stearman right now. I learned to fly a Cub C-85. Also fly with my best friend in his AT-6. I have a few hours in a taildragger. I love Cessna 172's the most though they seem so stable and dependable.

.... what you really need is an old Albatross ... with tank-racks and an on-board compressor... now THAT would be an ideal dive boat !!

Albatroses (abatrie?) used to be real deals on the surplus aircraft market but they have become incredibly popular lately as sort of a flying RV with people now spending tons of money on them and pouring tons more into upgrading them.
