Glad to hear everything went well. Any notable sea life? What spots did you dive?

:vintagediver:Not sure if I would go again on the C, but I am going to try the bottom scratcher next month. The guy at PW said there is less deck space on the bottom sc. but they feed you and air is included, plus the boat is faster. There were quite a bit of variety of fish, saw quite a few lobsters and some fish that were flat and the same color as the kelp. also saw, I think it was a baracuda chasing a large school of "jacks" thousands of them. It is amazing if you just stay still inside the kelp forest what you see. I don't know my fish ID. Our first stop was just past long point a place called italian gardens, then we moved to I believe goat harbor, but after about 7 minutes in the water we were asked to return, reason was the current was to strong for the OW class, so we moved to just east of little gibraltar and tucked in from the wind. shallow diving here 25-40 ft. No current. Saw a bald eagle and everyone was excited when it flew around.
You were correct on the rental stuff Frank, BC are pretty worn out, reg in good working order, but gauges small and hard to see. tank was AL80, I think I prefer steel as I really notice a change in bouyancy half way thru the tank. Well more later, .......

Hey Blue Steel try out the Magician & the Sun Diver both good boats & food & air are included.

fnfalman:The fish was exactly the color of the kelp and about 6-8" long and shaped like a blade of kelp. You would never have noticed it unless you were right on top of it.
JMdiver:How much does the sun diver and magician cost for a day trip? Bottom Sc. is 135 and goes out of berth 55, (my favorite place to eat lunch).

The flat fish was probably a turbot. Pretty small and with bulbous eyes, right?
Or a halibut or sand dab.

Sounds like a Kelp Fish
