Its a shame that Hollywood has run out of ideas and makes another bad move to follow one that floped so bad, not to mention the way they pertrayed divers to look so stupid. This is probably going to turn out like Friday The 13th and have a million horrable sequels. I think OW 3 will be Jason takes the Bahamas.

Where did you read about the couple from "OW1" surviving. Last I heard, they where never seen again.:11:

You are correct. I found the article but I can't get the link to work right.
Search for "open water the movie the true story" in your search engine

The article I read was an account of a couple who had had a similar experience, and was out in the water for about 8 hours before they were rescued. It came out in a magazine after the release of the movie. I had just gotten certified when this movie came out and I had never been on an offshore ocean dive before....so I had no experience of my own to compare it to, which made it all the more a bad experience to watch it.

I don't think there is probably enough Capt. Morgan in the world to ease the pain of what you're likely to endure. You're a brave one.

You're right.. There wasn't enough.

I'm one of the few that actually liked Open Water.. This one, not so much.

Word to the wise: No gratuitous nudity... Some guy butt shots, (for the ladies) but nothing from the women..:mooner:

Save your money..And your 2 hours.

i think Open Water 1 was an amalgamation of 2 or 3 true stories; one the couple in Australia that were never found; I think just her BC was found?? and a couple in the Keys left a day or two and climbed on a nav buoy; they survived; and then another that was picked up a few hours afterwards

that 2 second gratuitous topless shot was the only part worthwhile to many guys; wonder if business at Stuart Cove's dropped or picked up after the movie cam out?

What surprised me is many non-divers thought it was on a par with Blair Witch? say WHAT????

It's funny you mention Stuart Cove's. I didn't really know much about "Open Water," much less how it ended. I watched it just days before we went to the Bahamas. We did a 2 tank with S/C and as were getting our briefing at the DC3 Wall, I asked about accountabilty. Our Instructor smiled and asked ,"Why?" I said I made the mistake of watching "Open Water" just a couple of days ago. All she did was laugh and say, "What in the h*ll did you do that for???" We all had a nice laugh at my expense. :)

Hmmmm, scuba zombies...!

:rofl3: what are the chances these "scuba zombies" will be dressed in black, sporting BP/W's and long hoses, wielding cut off cheap steak knives and ranting "stroke! you're gonna DIE" :eyebrow:

I'll start camping at the theatre the day they announce that movie!

DaleHall:
Enough of the Open Water movies.
They need to do a remake of "Into The Blue" that has nothing but Jesscia Alba and her new friend, Kelly Hu, in bikinis. I don't even need a story line or dialog for that one. :eyebrow:
