I'm having problems trying to get the substrobe to flash. I can get the strobe to flash using the test switch but can't get it to work with the camera.

I have replaced the plug on the back of the camera where the strobe plugs into and that didn't work.

Is there a way to test to see if the strobe cord is bad?

OR

Any other suggestions?

Thanks,
Aaron

I'm not that familiar with Ikelite strobes to try to answer. One of the other shooters will be along who can help.

Here is a link to Ike's site on how to test his synch cords. Hope this helps. You can also e-mail Ike directly, he is very helpful

Rooster,

They didn't show the type of connection that my strobe has. Its a two prong probe on one end and on the other end it goes into the strobe and is hard wired. I can post some images if that would help solve my problem.

Not sure if this is an Ikelite SubStrobe from the cord description. Our newest digital SubStrobes will NOT work with Sea & Sea Motormarine cameras because we have changed the sync circuit to be compatible with the newest Nikon cameras like the F5 and Coolpix digital cameras. These new strobes will auto-flash when attached to the Motormarine.
