Awesome. If they do something that looks like Troy, Manatee, or other similar parks, Morrison will be all the better for it. It's a beautiful place, and a fun dive. I really enjoy seeing the kids splashing around having a grand time. It's how things should be for kids.

I just hope they don't charge people, or at least don't charge them much. I don't mind paying a bit to go dive there, and I think the boaters could spend a few bucks too, but I'd hate to see them charge families with kids who just want to go swim and splash around.

I expect a few changes, and not liking any of them. I have soloed 90 percent of my dives for the past 20 years and hold a solo instructors cert. When the state has be involved in springs in the past, they have charged, blocked entrance from the river and not allowed solo diving, don't know what the county will do

I think they will let walton county people in free, all them "out of towners" well, they should be charged out the :censored:

Not that talking to government officials means that much, I had asked commissioner Scott Brannon if they were going to charge for entry to the "upgraded" park. He said there were no plans to charge a fee.

The changes proposed when I met with the committee were well within reason. They don't promote diving (like a dive shop) but help safety by pulling boats away from the beach and basin area (also, keeping the vehicle traffic out of the beach area is a huge safety plus). It will be nice to have a new bath-house with bathrooms that work. They are talking about plumbing to rinse gear along the boardwalk. The boardwalk, dock, nature trails, and classroom won't impact me much as a diver at all.

We can help them improve after they get done what they plan. You can never fight city hall so we need to be happy that they haven't done anything to hurt diving at Morrison and even are doing some things to help.
