For those of you planning to dive Morrison - I just looked at the City of Barrie pics and it would appear that the Kempenfeft Bay has gotten some solid ice cover - no more open water as far as i can see

Ice Coverage

Rockport next week for us, i guess

Hey I can see my brothers house in one of those pics

Only for those that don't know the "spot"

Tom

Tee hee hee.... take me with you I've been dry too long!!! I'm starting to go a little nuts!! :freak:

I was over at the rockport wall saturday and both of my first stage froze and had a glove leak not a good day :(

But the ice is pretty thick and we bashed a small hole with my 40cft there is a spot were there is no ice all winter but it seems awkward to get out

Vlada if your going out for sure and i could join please send me a PM or an email at martin.morris@sympatico.ca

I dove with you once

Yes, Lake Simcoe has completly frozen over as of last night. The snowmobiles and ice huts started going out this morning.

My first clue about the ice conditions at Rockport was viewing the ice chunks around the entry point hole left by DS1 and Diver Joe.

My second clue was, on the way driving from Rockport to Dive Tech, I observed a father and two kids skating on the ice next to their parked ATV.

Guess open-water season is over at Rockport for this winter...

Not good news.

Hopefully Humber Bay is gonna stay open this winter

Martin (DS1) - we are likely be doing Humber Bay next week - closer to home and still have some equipment issues to sort out and not ready for under ice yet

Humber bay is to polluted to freeze :) last dive there i saw 1 LIVE fish and like 50 dead 1s.
Also if you are diving humber bay you should try going around the second peninsula at the end of the parking lot. I found the dive much more enjoyable and the vis better then the peninsula with the pipes.
