John:

I haven't been in the water since our CAD trip. Nice diving. We've got to hook up again and hit a site on the SS. Unfortunately, I'm unavailable this weekeend--work and home improvement. I'll pm you. Happy hunting and have fun.

Brant Rock is off Rte 3 on the south shore. From Framingham head toward the Ocean and bear right instead of left. Well a bit more specific would be let's see 90 East to 93 (3) South to 3 South to route 139 (toward Marshfield) leads right to the beach and the divers are all over the place. Parking that time of the morning is 1 or 2 spots from the steps to the beach. Time wise we can pull off anytime from 6:30 to 8:30 (my dive partner has to work at Noon and it's an hour drive home for us). I know once you fall for Cape Anne another spot is hard to imagine but it is actually a real nice dive. Juvie bugs litter the bottom and the bigguns' are out there for the hunting. Absolutely no depth to speak of, I think my record out there is 17. Typical is 13. I think it is listed at the scuba obsession link.

Well i'll be up there around 8:30. By the way Brant Rock is in Marshfield on the South Shore.

Hopefully we can find a few bugs tomorrow.

Arrr....8:30 it is.

Got three good bugs on a boat yesterday at Norman's Woe Rock. Wasn't as as lucky on the next site, Brace Cove (although some babe on the same boat got 6) so just started collecting mussels. Got a couple of dozen of them. Also put a couple of crabs in my catchbag too.

This morning my gf cooked all this deliciosuness and we washed it down with some molson golden (first time I try this beer and I'm impressed) while watching sports. I kinda liked the crabs too: they have a different taste than lobsters and smaller, but I like them. Spent the rest of the day playing basketball and in the pool. So far this is turning out to be a very good vocation :bang:

nothing beats lobster and beer for breakfast. ;)

John,

good diving this morning. Too bad we didn't get any at Folly but I am not surprised, Folly gets picked probably more than any other site.

Did you go to Pebble this afternoon? I did another dive on Bass Rocks and got this guy (4 and 5/8 inches from eye to neck). I saw an even bigger one there, but that thing was probably too big to keep and I left it alone.

Btw, those 2 flounders I let go this morning were legal after all. Apparently it's fluke (summer flounder) which has to be 16 and 1/2, the winter flounder only has to be 12. They were both about 15. Another example of a perfectly good dinner swimming away :bonk:
