It's not too hard to start up a blog, it just takes a bit of fiddling to get it figured out.

I use Wordpress, which is free blogging software, from: WordPress.com — Get a Free Blog Here

You don't have to know how to program to use it, which is a plus. I just found a nice theme, and changed the background image to my own.. There's a lot of people out there who use Wordpress, so if you have questions about how to use it, finding answers is easy.
