By no means am I an expert. Kayaking is pretty simple in itself. Sit down and paddle, keeping your weight centered. Diving is something that should not be a challenge. Anchoring is a matter of dropping it over board. Getting off the kayak is definitely easy...hopefully in open water class, they taught you to put your gear on in the water.

Starts sounding pretty simple doesn't it?

Reading up on any subject can at least enlighten you towards self discovery LOL

Make sure not to forget your buddy checks at the surface before descending!

Get your kayaks and post up after you have them. Myself or someone should be willing to buddy up and go diving. After all, isn't that why we read/post on this website?

bolantej, the kayak you have is pretty small at 11' and only has a 300 pound capacity. You are definitely pushing it's limits. Not something I would be comfortable doing in the open ocean.

Yeah, I probably would be better off with a boat. :) Still fun for paddling on the lake.

That is half the reason to own a kayak, not just for diving. We are going to take them out this weekend and tour our local estuary after doing one dive.

Tahoe or maybe even Wentworth/Loon Lakes is another trip we have planned before the end of summer. Hope to spend some time enjoying the weather and water, before it becomes our fall DIVING SEASON!

I just talked to one of my friends, and he is game to take a Friday or Monday and dive out of Lobos to Blue Fish cove by kayak, and spend another day launching the kayaks from the breakwater and heading South towards the aquarium.

We always hit up Aquarius on Del Monte for our nitrox fills as they are banked, and good people to do business with.
