Bay Area recreational divers have been volunteering their time and
skills annually to help clean up Monterey's underwater world for
many years. We hope to keep this tradition of public service alive
so please, volunteer and participate in 2005!!!

This year's cleanup will be held at Wharf II (across the street
from McDonalds) on Saturday, September 17. If you would like to do
some cleanup, have some fun, and have a BBQ with prizes donated by
your local dive shops, come on by.

For more information see …
http://www.sfreefdivers.org/cleanupdive_2005.html, or the notice in
this months California Diving News. Or you can just call
Deb Gilmore at divecleanup2005@yahoo.com or 510.846.0351.

Wish that had been posted earlier! With some more advanced notice I would have liked to have participated. With this short notice, it is doubtful.

However, Thanks for posting it! Better late than never.

Any good ideas wbout how we can get more advance notice for the next time?

Wristshot.

I believe that California Dive Center out of San Bruno (www.cadive.com) is sponsoring the clean-up efforts at Lover's Point in Pacific Grove this Saturday as well.

Nevertheless, whether part of an organized clean up effort or not, we should always pluck garbage out of the ocean when we come across it.

Dive safe,

Mel

Read ba_diving? ;-)
Nope.

Two main reasons: 1) not familiar with it and 2) I barely have time to read ScubaBoard some weeks!

. . . but thanks for the reference.

So how did it go? Were the conditions nasty like everyone was saying?
