Hello,
Searching for a guided dive in Monterey. I don’t have my equipment with me (except a brand new orca torch and sharkskin top+bottom, hehehe) - I need to rent it all.
Have rescue and nitrox certs.
Just convinced myself to give this cold water a try if possible on Thursday (Nov 20).
Any recommendations?
Thanks 😊

Catalina shops won't help for Monterey. Short notice and diving on a Thursday might be challenges, but I would try Bamboo Reef or Aquarius. Unfortunately the guide i would strongly recommend at Bamboo Reef moved away. They have warm semi dry wetsuits in their rental fleet though.

Well, it's a little too late tonight to coordinate something for bright and early. But, I'd recommend that you call Aquarius in the morning. If that doesn't work out, you can try Bamboo Reef. All else fails, you can always rent some stuff from Monterey Bay Scuba, located right on top of the breakwater, which is a very easy to navigate dive site. Just wade in on the beach side, follow the pier out, and follow it back in. Hope you have a good experience tomorrow, best of luck!

Hi, it would be the day after tomorrow so maybe I’ll be in luck.
I wouldn’t go diving without a guide- new location, new conditions, unknown equipment… I would rather be conservative in this situation. 😅

I would, but not alone. I need at least a local buddy to act as guide. Seals not counting 🤪

And then when you love it get back on here, so we can outfit you with some value packed used gear!
Because every dollar spent renting is a dollar spent not on buying a house a car or value packed gear

The conditions don’t look favorable for tomorrow, 21st viz reports have been spotty and trending toward poor. Check with Aquarius
