Lobos on Sat-I want to see!
I don't mean to be disappointing, but...
Yesterday I went to Point Lobos, and the weather was gorgeous. While it may have been cloudy and drizzly in the bay area, Monterey was really quite nice. And there was only one other team there at Point Lobos, so a total of only 4 divers. The water was absolutely flat...and the temperature was 52, which is an improvement over recent days. However, the visibility was simply terrible. When we got there, I asked the other team (just getting out after their first dive) about the visibility, and they said it was less than 10' even after they went out of the cove and down deep by the pinnacles. The lady giving me the report is an instructor at Bamboo Reef, so I figured her report must have been accurate. She claimed the visibility was better inside Whaler's Cove than it was outside, something that would be a first for me. So when we went in the water, we just played around on the bottom in the cove. No way was the visibility even 10'! It was absolutely horrible.

So the good news is that the water is calm and it's warming up a bit, but the visibility is the worst I've ever seen at Point Lobos. This lady from Bamboo Reef claimed it was the same at Monastery the day before (Wednesday).
