Ewa Pinnacles the other day..
This rather large Monk Seal comes cruising directly at me and my brother
[who's visiting from Texas].
As the Monk Seal closed to within 10 feet of us.. it paused..
and waved Happy New Year!
THE largest Monk Seal I'd seen in nearly five years of diving here.
Approx. 8 feet long and 400 lbs!
And, after giving us a long stare..
it lost interest and darted up and over the west Pinnacle..
[didn't get a chance to focus on it's tag number/bleach number]
