I'm a pretty new (less than 1 year certified, AOW), mid-thirties diver, and wish I had begun this sport 20 years ago. But, I take inspiration from my mother. When I told her I had signed up for scuba classes, she sighed and said, "oh, I've always wanted to do that!" My response, of course, was, "well, you'd better start doing what you've always wanted to do!" By golly, she did it! Nearing 60 and fairly overweight, she still certified, and we just had our first dive trip together in West Palm Beach. A dream come true for both of us! Does life get any better than when you've got a reg in your mouth, 100 ft. visibility, your mom as your dive buddy, and a goliath grouper sharing your bath water?:D

Welcome aboard and good for you guys for following a dream!

Welcome to Scuba Board

Welcome to Scuba Board. Good for your mom! Yeah, that must be great to dive with her.

Congratulations to both of you on taking the first steps toward an incredible life adventure! That is AWESOME!

Yes it does, but get your mom a bit more experience before you try a wall dive off the Cay Sal Bank or Tongue of the Ocean. :D

Welcome to the pool! Remember that this sport has a lot in common with heroin and turkey hunting. All are highly addictive and absorb any available resources, but are REALLY enjoyable!
