KansaiKitsune:
I've abused a few wetsuits with pp, but couldn't get it up high enough, or the bc down low enough to ever abuse my bc with pp. I'll have to keep working on that. :eyebrow:

(Sorry. :))

Easy, just lay it on the ground and you can do what you want

AlexMDiver, are you worried bout legionair's disease from a BC? :11:

SangP,

I am not worried about the chances of legionnaire's. But in general, it is good to keep dark closed places dry to avoid stuff growing in it. That was the original question I think. There are some nasty things that can grow in stagnant closed spaces with water (bacterial and fungal) and therefore it is best to store your BC without any water in the bladder, especially since you do use the inflator hose to inflate your BC with your mouth from time to time. The same applies for dry suits. If your dry suit gets wet and you do not dry it and hang it away, you will be blessed with a rather horrid smell after a while.

AlexMDiver,

Yup you are right but I think it was pretty clear that you should store things only when they are totally, dry as stated in my post.

The only real problem is that a bc with all it's pouches, nooks and straps will almost never get totally dry unless you are willing to put it in the sun or into a dryer!

A bit of mouth wash, a good rinse and dry is usually good enough. AlexMDiver, can you be sure your bc is totally dry? We do what we can but don't go overboard as a gulp of seawater is probably even worse than a bit of mould LOL!

Btw, I took this straight out of Zeagle's owner's manual and as you can see, it's a very simple process.

• Rinse the Rapid Diver™ BCD thoroughly with fresh water after each use.
• Rinse the inside of the bladder by holding the exhaust button on the inflator system open and allowing fresh water to partially fill the bladder. “Slosh” the water around to dissolve any salt crystals (salt crystals can damage the bladder over time). Drain the bladder completely
and repeat.
• Hang the BCD upside down and allow it to dry while partially inflated. Drain any residual water through the exhaust hose while the BCD is hanging upside down.
• Store the BCD partially inflated in a cool, dark, dry place.

Inspection and Service Interval
Your Rapid Diver™ BCD (including the Inflator) should be inspected and maintained by an Authorized Zeagle Dealer at least once a year, and more often if you dive frequently. This is a required action to keep your warranty in effect. There is a Service Record in the back of this manual for the Dealer to record the service performed.
