We were on a boat called the Ultimate Getaway. There's another, similar one called the Playmate.

looks like a great trip. i know nothing about spearfishing but wouldn't mind trying. the only question (that i had not considered before seeing these pictures): is it mandatory to bury my fingers up to the knuckles in the eye sockets of those fish? the thought is almost as bad as watching my wife actually EAT fish eyes. to each one his (or her) own.

............ I wasn't wildly fond of hanging out in the water for 15-20 minutes - waiting to get picked up. ........
standard practise in queensland for americans :D

and yes, we need more pics!!!!

What I like about the Tortuga's trips are that on drift dives you may (will) drift across an area that no one has ever seen and may never see again. One little bommie about the size of a semi tractor comes to mind, out in the middle of a large sand patch a few of use were drifted over, just loaded with fish....a massive reef system that Capt. Rick knows better than anyone....

Ok then.

Great report, thanks Kev! And great pics, thanks to everyone that took pictures to share. And, great times, thanks to all my MOFer friends! I only wish that we didn't have to come home, back to reality.
