I've had my Dive Rite Transplate setup since 2011 and absolutely love it, diving way more than I ever used to. I've got the 16 lb weight pockets (8 lb per side) mounted vertically, so the D-ring faces down. The left side D-ring sits flush against the weight pocket, so sometimes it takes a few tries to clip my console with SPG on to the D-ring. I wrapped some rescue tape around the D-ring as a test, so it sticks out about 1/2", and it's much easier to clip a snap bolt on. I'd like to make the flat D-ring into a bent D-ring, with the bottom bent slightly out. Any suggestions on the best way to do this? Here's what the pocket looks like, from the DR web site:

I was thinking about taking the weight pockets off the belt and trying to bend the D-ring in a vise, but figured I'd ask for ideas first, in case anyone has done this already
