I knew the Devil Rays were in town, but that's crazy. I've never heard of such a creature around these parts.

Poor guy. I wonder if the local aquarium, or wildlife organizations are planning an necropsy? Always interesting to know what happened.

I think they are just going to (or already have) drag it out to sea for the gulls, crabs and great whites to take care of.

Oh well, at least the local wildlife benefits. I do find the marks on the head a tad unusual. I always feel a tad bad for plankton eaters when they wash ashore. I once had a sealion come ashore with a bat ray still attached to it. The poor sea lion was in bad shape and the ray attached to it was a mass of cartilage.
