Came out of a meeting to a message from divinman telling me there was an open spot - which I have managed to procure (perfect timing - I had kelp dives that were cancelled just this morning!!), See you guys in the am!! Could I be more excited???

Christian, I have my hoodie out and ready....

I had a great time today for my first Yukon dive. Conditions were not excellent but they were decent aside from the swell and surge. The Ruby E was a nice bonus for the second dive and the Sea lion at the bow was fun. The best though was the Mola on our 30ft stop. At least 3 of got to see it! Lunch was a blast too!

Thanks to the Captain and crew of the DnDII for a fun morning of diving.
And a special thank you to Headhunter for his never ending hard work with putting these things together and wearing his old hood!:D

Yeah, I had a great time too despite the non-optimal conditions. It's amazing how much surge you can experience at depth, due to the long period ground swell energy. Regardless, we got two nice AM dives in. Topside conditions looked like they continued improving as the morning went on.

The Yukon had a little bit of a sinister feel to her yesterday - deep, dark, lots of water moving around. Regardless, Rob and I had a nice relaxed out and back from the fwd gun mooring line to the props. We actually got to see a fair amount of the ship in a single dive.

Doing the Ruby E for the 2nd dive was a nice change up. We were blessed by the presence of Dive Goddess, Kim on this one. It's such a pretty little wreck but the current and surge we experienced certainly kept us on our toes ... you could easily get impaled in a few spots (thankfully, no one did). It was a riot watching Rob matching barrel rolls (while in doubles) with a playful sea lion. The highlight was definitely seeing the Mola Mola during our stops ... good eye, Rob.

Thanks Rob and Kim for being such awesome dive buddies. Special thanks again to Christian for organizing the trip and the DnDII crew for doing a great job. While, the diving is often pretty cool, the highlight of these events is the interaction with others. This trip was no different. It was a great hanging out with everyone today. Lunch was a blast ... it was a very cool and fun group. Happy B-Day scubajennifer ! Glad you could make it out to join us. It was really great seeing you again, sweetie. Robert, glad you were able to make it down and join the fun.

Mola molas, sea lions, whales....one word - NARC'd!!! (The only way I can tolerate that is if I pretend you are all liars....)

I also had a great time, despite my raging CO2 headache after the first dive (Jen, thanks for the Advil!! That totally saved my second dive!) - I was pleased with the visibility, though the surge (particularly on the Ruby E) was strong enough to be quite disconcerting in spots - I'll admit that I wish the conditions were a bit better for my first dives on these wrecks...but they could have been worse, that's for sure. I would really like to get back to the Yukon and see more of it - hopefully, I can do this pretty soon. The Ruby E was absolutely beautiful - I will never again leave my camera on deck for a dive on her!!

Also had a blast at lunch - thanks again to all of you veteran SoCal-ers for being so welcoming to me. ScubaJennifer - it was great to meet you, can't wait to see you back here this summer!!! Happy B-day!

Allison

Thank you to everyone for an awesome SoCal weekend!! Despite a few tiny issues I had, everything was a blast!! It was so cool to meet some of you guys and put faces to names. Lunch was a hoot!! I even met a couple of new celebrities!! :eyebrow:

I can't wait to get back out there in June!!

Oh and I'm with Allison on the whole Mola Mola, Sea Lion, Whale thing!! :shakehead

I missed many of you in the afternoon!

We changed the second dive of the afternoon to the El Rey, which I personally like. It's got cool stuff around it.

There were only 7 people on due to a class only having 3 people instead of the 9 that wer expected.

The conditions could have been better on the 4 dives, but I still had a great time.

It was a beautiful sunny day and I really like being able to rinse my gear right on the dock. That way I just have to hang everything up when I get home and I'm done!

I look forward to seeing you all on Catalina Island in 2 weeks. It's going to be a blast!

Christian

I had a great time at the Yukon with all you all! :D I'm glad you guys saw the Mola on the dive I didn't do :D hehe Glad you got to get in there to see the Ruby Allison! We'll definitely catch both wrecks on a better day sometime soon! Nice meeting you Jennifer and Happy Birthday! See most of you in Catalina???
