I got my Scubapro MK16 three weeks ago at LDS. Done 4 dives with it at local quarry, and everything worked very well.

However, when I went diving again today, the MK16 leak, internally, before I did any dives. ;-0

I did not expect a regulator is that fragile. Anyone has problem with MK16 like this? What could I have done to prevent this?

Thanks!!!

Sorry about your new MK-16. I am not really sure which part are you talking about? The yoke connection, the HP/LP or the hose? What's you second stage?
Don't dive with this reg. bring it back to your LDS.
Good luck but leave nothing to chance.

It's the upper part of the yoke. I use scubapro G550 for my second stage and they work fine.

Or the O-ring behind it may have been damaged during assembly.

Both are 30-second fixes.

If its leaking from the reg BODY, that's a different matter.

My LDS just told me that the O ring of my high presure port has gone bad. Thanks God it is not something major about it. So how often an O ring will go bad normally?

almost never.

That kind of problem is usually caused by damage during installation.

I am a newbie (Just got NAUI OW 3 weeks ago) so I would like to know if you guys could share me any tricks to protect my essential gears (reg, bp/wing, etc...), apart from what was taught in the textbook.
