My MK7 seems to have bit the dust as my backup since my LDS says he can't get the parts to rebuild it. He has generously offered to trade me a MK10 to replace it.

What is the MK10?

I'll probably go ahead and put my 109 2nd on it but was curious what other 2nd stages would be appropriate for it.

The Mk10 is an excellent balanced piston 1st. I dive one in addition to my Mk5s and Mk7. But I don't understand what parts your LDS is unable to get for that Mk7. While Scubapro may no longer be assembling a service kit for the Mk7, all annual service parts and other soft parts are still available. It uses the same HP seat and filter as the Mk10 and everything else is standard O-rings. Even hard parts can be had with a bit of determination. The piston and spring are the same as a Mk5. Even the honker unique parts which may no longer be available thru Scubapro are readily available in the junk yard. That is, unusable Mk7s (due to the light yoke) are fairly common on ebay.

While it is a shame to retire a classic like that, you can expect somewhat better performance out of a Mk10 than from that Mk7. Early Mk10 were paired with the metal 2nds like the 109. Newer Mk10s were usually paired with G250s and D400. And there is no reason you couldn't put any of the current productions 2nds on one. (But why ruin a great regulator by sticking a piece of plastic on it when you have the 109.
 
A mk10 is/was a newer version of the mk5 first stage.

The biggest difference between the 5 and 10 other than size was that the piston only travels in the upper body and it was supposed to align better that way.

You could mate up just about any 2nd to the mk10 and be a happy diver.
I still dive the mk10 by choice.
 
Dude I have a 109 and it breathes better than my S600 (thats the top of the line SP reg) I only wish I could find another one....they work great. there is 20 plus years of diving on mine now and besides a few dings and scratches it looks like new
 
I would PM D.A. Aquamaster, he may be able to tell you where you can find the parts. I am not sure what a MK 7 is, was that a MK 5 with a audible low-pressure warning?
 
Duct tape two MK5s together and that is what it looks like. It makes a honking sound as you start to get low on air. That is how is got nicknamed the "honker" It is an awesome first stage. I love mine.

Three of my five first stages are Mk10's. Love 'em. Match two of them with G250's.
 
The MK10 is a excellent 1st stage, I have a set that I use my double 80's.
I'd second the idea of shooting DA Aquamaster a pm, He's the man on for Scubapro questions.
