I have looked at this reg for the same reasons and like a side exhaust as a back up reg. However, it comes with a custom hose which I think is the Miflex or a variant of. These get bad press. Also it means the hoses are not just standard and interchangable. I would avoid it for that reason. Even worse it is hugely expensive. I will carry on with my 20 year old version.
