Missing diver's body found Tuesday near Frying Pan Shoals
SOUTHEASTERN NORTH CAROLINA (WECT) -

The body of a diver reported missing on Monday was found Tuesday near Frying Pan Shoals off the southeastern NC coast, according to the Coast Guard.

Petty Officer Hodges said dive team members on the boat Jetlag contacted the Coast Guard on Monday about a male diver who did not resurface. Hodges said a member of the Jetlag crew found the body Tuesday afternoon around 1:30 p.m.

Oak Island and Wrightsville Beach Coast Guard crews, the Coast Guard Cutter Richard Snyder and Elizabeth City air search teams assisted in the search.

The deceased diver's identity has not been released.

God bless them,I hear Jetlag on the radio all the time. They dive around the Pan a lot.

I just got back from diving with that group. Good group of people. Hate to hear it.

They are out of Carolina Beach. Have not dove with them but think they focus on spear fishing and teeth which is not unusual in that area.
