Dove Desert Tortoise today (NW about 1km from the Dam) . . . Freaking ugly vis, about 2' at 50fsw. Lights are useless in that soup. One can certainly understand why he wasn't found.

Yeah Tortouise has some nasty viz. Glad you got out there though. If you can get out to tec island it gets nicer down deep but the shallow stuff is was soupy right now.

Dan - how was it below 200 this weekend?

I miss Playa del Carmen though - at 330fsw we could see down to the sand at 400 with ambient light!

We weren't around those depths but we could see to about 140 or 150 with ambient light.

It's the decompression obligation. Basically the "ceiling" you have to stay under.
