Has anyone stayed with Lalelka in Misool? They seem to be the only not very expensive option to dive in the area?
Yes, i am here at the moment.
Was here for ten days, waterbungalow 25 dives and 1 trip to jellyfish lake. 1420 euro. We shared the boat with 4 of us.

It has it's problems, running out of food, boats need maintenance, crappy divemaster, but nevertheless the diving was so worth it compared to around kri/pam.

The ferry was very nice, slept like a baby in 2 person cabin.

If you go to raja i would recommend to first check when they have a group on lalelkai and then build your trip around that. Its easy and cheap to go back and forth to central. I took the morning 9.00 ferry wasai-sorong, put all my stuff in the cabin on the nightferry at around 11.00, went into sorong for shopping/ massage and went back to the nightferry around 20.00. next day in Misool we did two dives.

Oh yeah: the diving. Its about 40 minutes boatride to go to the big sites like boo window, Magic Mountain etc. Since the dives are 3 tank, they take coffee and lunch, which you consume on the most beautiful Islands. We did all sides of the most popular diversites and avoided the LOB crowd. Obviously conditions vary and so does sealife.

The remarkable healthy reefs, incredible shallows, colourful softcoral, gigantic hardcorals and by times crazy variety of schools all merged in were remarkable. I really enjoyed the batfish schools and the big school of humpheads. Also we saw mantas, sharks and lots of little critters.

Do bring a big smb, whistle, maybe signal mirror and don't do the "trust me" dive. The current was at times spicy so a reefhook is recommended. Keep your eyes open and know where you dive and how to get to the boat safely.

We had to wait for the boat after the last dive for 15 minutes, it lost us and i was happy i had my huge SMB instead of the little sausage the divemaster brought.

. Especially since the divemaster freaked out and it was getting darker. Luckely there was another instructor in our group and together we kept the group together and stayed optimistic.

It was a long 15 minutes...

Know there are no technicians nor the usual fix your gear tools. Rats bit through my inflator hose and luckely some guests brought tiewraps so we could shorten it and fix it.

They have DIN with yoke inserts.
I was happy with my noice cancelling earplugs and watched some Netflix during the ride. The boat is loud!!

The reef in front is not very beautiful, but we just snorkeled it all the way to the corner (to the right side if you have the resort in your back) and it was very well worth it! (To our surprise). Lots of remarkable things we did not even see during our dives.
Like a massive brown seaneedle acting like a dead stick. Shark, turtle, mandarinfish.

If you want to save some money, go sleep in the mainhouse. It's on a little hill behind the bungalows. The rooms are dark, but the balcony is breezy and the Chinese guest (no sun!!) seem to like it there.

I think that's all!! If you want to know more, hit me up!
