Sidemounting 2x 40cu tanks would be awesome. Unfortunately, I've asked around at most of the places that do fills, and they all charge $10 per fill, no matter the size of the tank.

My sidemount setup is nearly ready, but I haven't had a chance to practice it yet, and would want to feel very comfortable with it before taking it to a river.

I have two AL 40s, but they are hooked up together as doubles with a Aqualung solid manifold. It is a wonderful combo for current diving. I use double hose regulators a lot, and it works very well with those too. Of course, I use it with a military harness and a separate BCD (front mount, my Para-Sea BC) too.

Yep. My dubs regs can go back and forth between 'singles' and dubs.

At 71 y/o I'm seriously considering my Freedom Plate and a single dependable reg.

If that offends anyone, wait your insights out for by obit then post to your heart's content...

No worries, I'm sure someone with 6000 scubaboard posts, and 30 dives, will determine your cause of death was a lack of octo & ditchable-weights. Even though you were found with bite-marks next to a dead alligator, that had a scuba-knife sticking through it's throat.

Nice wing! Cleverly obscured logo, I could fix that for you:

You always were renegade, weren't you? :)
That was my first wing a decade ago, but it failed quickly and OMS refused to honor their warranty. And it took OMS over a year to return my defective wing to me.

I loved my Deep Sea Supply wing. It lasted 10 years. Last year I took it Cozumel, the bladder was leaking, and the corrugated hose kept leaking. I was diving in a swim suit and T-shirt, so I didn't really need the wing anyway. I finally replaced the wing, under protest.

But now I'm all Halcyon.

I'm giving you the upvote just for the Mares reg :) Is that a 32 or 42 with the Proton Ice?
Don't remember. I couldn't get Mares serviced in the USA, so I sold it.

Me, totally Oxycheq. Pink H's are way too expensive for what they are.

But that is the true beauty of solo divers. We'll never agree on anything just to be 'nice' and nobody will ever be considered to be 'right'.

I think one thing we can agree on, is minding our own business. Solo divers disunite!

I totally get that. I'm considering selling my Scubapro MK15, because I can't find a service-kits for it easily. It's a shame, because it's a great regulator. On the flip-side I have 3x of MK10s, because they're inexpensive, and once you can service one, you can service them all.

SlugMug,

Reading your posts I have a feeling that your personality is going to lead you on a trip to Bonaire sooner or later. (Shore diving from a pickup truck on your own terms.) I suggest you just bite the bullet now and get an 18 or 20# wing and you'll have it for a travel wing.
