2 nice shore dives at Old Garden Beach in Rockport, MA on Saturday. Warm weather above water, with temps reaching the low 80s F. Winds out of the west kept seas relatively flat and temperatures warmer at the coast.
Water temps varied from the low 50s F at the surface to 46-48 F at the bottom. Not much in the way of fish life on these dives, but quite a few lobsters and crabs. Visibility was not bad - 15 feet on average, but seemed to drop (as did the bottom temp) as the tide started to come back in on our second dive.
Dive 1 = 43 feet max depth, 41 minutes, 48F bottom temp.
Dive 2 = 40 feet max depth, 46 minutes, 46F bottom temp.
One humorous moment....a guy who was at the beach with his kids (non-diver) was asking divers to put their tanks in the shade while they (the divers) were in the water....since his family would "obviously be in danger since the tanks might explode if left in the sun". Hmmmm.....

Thought you might also like the following video = a mix of underwater footage and stills I took during the dives. Not the most exciting video.....but lots of waving kelp. I find kelp kind of hypnotic
