Know those mini-SPGs for pony bottles?
Well why not an intermediate pressure gauge to put on the unused LP port of a first stage to monitor, with the same form factor?
Anybody ever see one?
Anybody wanna make one?

That's exactly what I did Boo. I don't like the ones that plug into your LP inflator hose. I prefer to get my reading directly from the first stage, without the influence of hoses. I took a spare port plug, drilled a hole all the way through it, ground the chrome off the top of the brass plug, silver-soldered a brass nipple to the plug and screwed this into a small 0 - 200 psi gage. It's worked perfectly now for about 7 years.

but why?

Leisurepro carries an adapter that converts from a 3/8" port to 1/4" NPT if it's worth $10.00 not to have the fun of building your own. In either case, it's not for in water use.
