We dove Mine La Motte Sunday. We dove the open quarry, not the caves. The vis was about 20-25 feet, the surface temp was 65 and the bottom temp was upper 40’s. We had the place to our selves, no one was there except a couple kids floating on an inner tube. The entry fee was $20. Probably a nice place to go until the summer crowd gets going good.
Not a lot to see, but with the good vis it made for a nice dive.

Here are some pics

Thanks for the pics, but I don't think they are linked. I can't get bigger images by clicking them.

Anyway, I always thought of Mine La Motte as a cavern/cave dive. I had no idea that they were open for OW dives too. I guess $20 is $20!

I've never been there- for some reason, I keep missing it when I'm in the Show Me State. :)

Yes, it was a great day.

Where is Mine La Motte quarry at? I was going to head to Mermet this Sat but I have to come back Sat night, so maybe this would be closer? Do they have a website or anything to get more info from.

Thanks
Phil

Check out there web site. I hope your not as offended as I was by the gals in bikinis :)

the-offsets.com

They are 13 miles south of Farmington on Highway OO, on the left hand side. I don't believe there is a sign, but there is some kind of mining equipment standing by the side of the road.

After Memorial day, it will get too busy for diving. So you ought to go soon, unless you can make it on a weekday.
