Last sunday, the 19th, it was 41 degrees at the bottom (and most of the way to the surface) vis was around 3-10 ft. but i dove in the afternoon after all the classes had a chance to kick it up. but it wasnt a bad dive.

Where was the thermocline? What was the temp above the thermocline?

I dont remember at what depth the thermocline was, but i did feel a few degrees warmer durring my safety stop. but i didnt notice any major temp change at any depth.

You'll be fine for the first 15 feet :-)

And the first 5 minutes at any depth because you'll be overheated in wetsuit with 80 degree air temps!

The Millbrook temps this morning are 57 degrees at 6 ft, 49 degrees at 20 ft with a fairly even lapse rate in between, a noticeable thermocline at about 25 ft, another mild one at about 45 ft. My computer read 41 degrees at 80 ft but I was only there about 10 minutes so it may not have fully cold soaked.

The viz is 15' above the 45 ft thermocline and improves to about 30 ft below that. There is a lot of pollen on the surface and the is the main reason for the low viz at shallow depths.

Thanks. I was there today also, What beach were you diving? Visibility was kinda bad down to the 30 foot platforms, but it really cleared up below 45' at the Plane at 70'. Which made it nice, but it was pretty cold especially diving wet.

Beach 2. Yes the viz was poor above the last thermocline.

I ended up doing two 40 minutes dives and even in a dry suit my hands got a bit cold down deep.
