I didn't take any notes, but I'll give y'all the basic rundown of what happened. Please don't hold me to any numbers too strictly, they're fairly representative if not absolutely accurate.
There were roughly 25-30 people attending the meeting. I don't think it was a mass marketing ploy for Cochran computers given the low number of people present. Add to that the fact that many in the room use the Cochran Gemini computer already - both owners & 2 of the DMs + many of the rest of the dive club members. I don't know this, but suspect that since his firm is local and the WE-B-DIVIN shop is a Cochran dealer, his being there was most likely a personal favor.
Mr. Cochran began his presentation by going straight to the Bikini controversy.Click Here (Thanks Warhammer)
The divers who experienced the problems at Bikini with their Cochran computers sent them in to the factory along with pictures they had taken of the display. Cochran uploaded the profiles (the information is in 1 second increments) to see what happened. Mr. Cochran used a Powerpoint presentation to display the results of their tests which included one of the actual dive profiles in question. The following is a summary of what Mr. Cochran told the group they found:
Their conclusion is that once the diver satisfied his Deco requirements the computer reverted to normal Dive Mode and displayed an accurate NDL that the diver mistook for his remaining Deco time. As a side note the Cochran Gemini does not go into a lock-out or gauge mode if you violate your deco ceiling or ascent rate etc.
The rest of the evening was spent going over dive computers in general and Cochran computers in detail.
I believe, overall, Mr. Cochran was being honest.

The following is a summary of what Mr. Cochran told the group they found:
- The dive was a repetitive dive to 147'.
- At the start of the diver's ascent, the computer was recommending 57 minutes for ascent.
- The diver made all of his deco stops roughly 10' below the recommended depths of 50', 30' and 20'.
- The diver had set his deco mix for 47% instead of the 80% he actually used
- The computer was set for a 10% more consevative calculation
- The diver remained at 20' for over 30 minutes after he had satisfied his deco obligations
- The photograph sent in showed an 8:54 NDL not DECO time remaining and 84 degrees not an 84' ceiling
- The Cochran default NDL with no N2 loading (1st dive) is 9:59
Their conclusion is that once the diver satisfied his Deco requirements the computer reverted to normal Dive Mode and displayed an accurate NDL that the diver mistook for his remaining Deco time.
